This is the current shipping schedule for the vessels operating in Tuvalu. There are two vessels: The Nivaga II and the Manu Folau. We will keep this updated as new schedules come out.

Note Motufoua end of school year 21 November 2014; Fiji end of school year 28 November 2014.

Currency & Duty Free, but no ATMs

Many travellers come here completely unprepared for the absence of an ATM or any way to use credit cards to pay for goods and services. Bring plenty of cash. Australian dollars are used, along with Tuvaluan and Australian coins. MasterCard and Travellers cheques may be used at the National Bank of Tuvalu for cash advances, but this may take some time.

National Bank of Tuvalu (NBT) hours: Mon-Thurs 9:30-13:00, Fri 8:30-12:00.

There is a small on Arrivals Duty Free shop just on exit from the terminal.This is operated by Tefota Liquor Store. To purchase goods, hand your boarding pass to the Customs Officer in the Arrivals area and tell them what you would like to buy - they will supply you with a note to present at the Duty Free booth. The duty free allowance per person is 200 cigarettes plus 2L of spirits and 2L of wine.

A past Departure tax (A$30) has now been abolished and is now included in your ticket price.

The country code for Tuvalu is +688. Local numbers in Funafuti are 5 digits starting with 20XXX, while mobile numbers are 6 digits starting with 90XXXX. The mobile network does not always work due to congestion, so stay with us and keep trying !
